I bought myself a new headset, and thought, let’s try something a bit different. I’ve heard a lot of good stories about Plantronics, so I thought to give that brand a try. I’m glad I did.

This headset excels literally almost in every area. I’ve used more than a handful of headsets in the past. Most of them came from Jabra, but none of them had the features nor the build quality this one had. Also… none of them were as pricey as this one, but the features that Plantronics bring to the table are worth it.

This headset can connect to your mobile and PC simultaneously. This is for me a really nice feature. I use a lot of online video/voice conferencing software. My clients contact me using Teams, Telegram, or even Discord (which is more commonly used by gamers, but it is a really good piece of conferencing software.) So at one time my phone rings, the next my PC rings. No need to change headsets, I can just answer the call.

When you don’t need the headset and put it in the case, it charges up, even if you didn’t connect it. The case has its own battery built in. Really nice, it keeps the earpiece charged and ready to go. (Of course, at some point you’ll have to charge the case again.)

The only thing a little less positive is that there isn’t really a good end-user manual, or I haven’t been able to find it. This meant that I had to go out and figure things out on my own. I figured out (after some searching) that the headset (and PC dongle) comes with serviceable firmware, which is a first for me. It was a bit of a puzzle to put a different earbud on the device, but once I figured out how that worked, (press, turn), that problem was solved. And finally, after following links in their own docs that I managed to find online, I got sent to pages that didn’t exist of software packages that got replaced. So there is some room for improvement.

On the good side, the sound quality is superb, the noise canceling feature is top notch. They advertise with this, and rightly so. I haven’t seen a headset that did such a good job of getting rid of all the background noise. People who you are calling will not hear that music of that radio or hear others talking in the background.

So all in all, this headset is really nice. Better than expected, and worth the extra price.
